  • Condition: This is a solid brass elevator indicator that was placed above the elevator and when the car arrived one light or the other would illuminate, indicating which direction the car was heading.

    Description

    This is an antique elevator indicator light that was installed in an old hotel when it opened in 1920.  The base is solid
    brass and as the elevator car approached the floor, one or the other lights would illuminate, depending on the direction
    of the car.  The red was the down arrow and the green arrow was upwards.  I set this piece on a light table to illuminate
    both lights to show how the piece worked.  It is in excellent condition, with a few tiny paint splotches on the outer edges
    indicating it was original.  Measures 4x10 in.
