This work is based on the story of a ghost experienced by Ki no Tsurayuki, a great poet of the Heian period, at Aritsugu Shrine, which enshrines the god of waka poetry. The poet Ki no Tsurayuki, one of the thirty-six immortals of poetry and also known as the author of "Tosa Diary," visits Tamatsushima Shrine in Sumiyoshi, known for the god of waka poetry. Tsurayuki and his party are suddenly hit by a violent storm on their way. The sky suddenly turns cloudy, and Tsurayuki is attacked by strong winds and a tremendous thunderstorm. Tsurayuki and his party are bewildered by the natural disaster. At that time, one Miyamori appears. The shrine guard, who held up the lantern, told him that this was the sacred precinct of Aritoshi Myojin, and that it was his fault for trying to pass by without dismounting. Tsurayuki is greatly awed by that fact. On the other hand, Miyamori, who learned that this person who touched the wrath of God was Tsurayuki, made a proposal. He would not dedicate a song to God. At midnight when the rain clouds pile up Should I think of it as an ant Tsurayuki dedicates a song as per Miyamori's recommendation. Miyamori was greatly impressed by the performance of the song, praised the virtue of the song, and read the Norito. In fact, the true identity of this Miyamori was Aritoshi Myojin. Tsurayuki was heartily pleased that he had received the poem from the god and set out again.
